Admission to Reception
If you are considering our school for your child we would be very pleased to show you our fantastic school. We do understand that applying for school places can sometimes be a daunting prospect and we welcome visits to the school on one of our regular tours for prospective parents. We hold tours at both our sites and you can choose which site you want to visit or you can arrange to visit both sites, you simply need to book a place on the tour or tours that you wish to attend.

How to Apply
Admission of new reception pupils is managed for the school by Bristol City Council. It is easiest to apply online for a reception place for September 2020 by visiting Primary School Admissions. Alternatively, you can download and complete an application form available on the same website. The deadline for applications for reception places for September 2020 is midnight on the 15th January 2020.
The preferred method of application is on-line. The guide for parents/carers is available on-line at: www.bristol.gov.uk/schooladmissions
If you do not have access to the Internet at home, free on-line facilities are available at all public libraries in Bristol. In addition you can use the internet at the Citizen Service Point in Central Bristol.
The national statutory offer date is 16h April 2020.
All children for whom an application has been received will be made an offer of a school place. The statutory common date for all Local Authorities to notify parents/carers of the outcome of their application is 16th April 2020.

Filton Avenue Primary School operates over two sites. For admissions purposes, home to school distances is calculated to a single point on the Lockleaze Road site. In addition to applying through their home local authority, applicants Reception places can complete the form available below or from the school, should they wish to specify a preference as to whether their child attends Lockleaze Road site (90 places) or Orchard Campus (30 places). The School operates an additional separate process to decide which site can be offered to parents.
An in-year admission means admission to a current year group for a child who is already attending school but wishes to change schools due to relocation or a change in circumstances. Filton Avenue Primary School manages its own in-year admissions so if you wish to apply for an in-year place, please contact the school office directly, alternatively you can download the PDF form and bring it into the school office. Your child will normally already be attending or have a place at a school so please speak with your current headteacher prior to making an in-year admission application.
