Performance and Improvement

It’s been another successful year at Filton Avenue Primary School, as we continue to make progress since the merger of the schools in September 2015.

As you will see from the data below, although not all outcomes improved on the previous year, we are seeing a continued positive trend from our starting point in 2015/16.

Particular success stories this year include: our best ever Good Level of Development (GLD) and Phonics outcomes; Key Stage 1 (KS1) Writing outcomes continue to improve; Key Stage 2 (KS2) Writing and Mathematics outcomes are both better than or in line with local authority (LA) and national averages.

One very positive aspect of the improvements made, is how the gap in outcomes, between All and Disadvantaged (Dis.) learners, has closed over the years; these children are also achieving the Expected Standard as much as their peers (citywide and nationally).

We won’t, however, be resting on our laurels, as we continue to strive to improve outcomes further next year.
