The School Day

Start of the School Day:

The School Day starts at 8:45am for all children. The gates Open at 8:35am and close at 8:50am.

Lunchtime:

Reception’s lunchtime takes place between 11:45am and 1pm. For Years 1-6 lunchtime is from 12pm until 1pm.

End of the School Day:

For Phase 1, the school day finishes at 3:15pm. For Phase 2, it finishes at 3:20pm and for Phase 3 at 3:25pm.

Starting Arrangements:

We want our children to feel safe and secure while managing a big change and therefore have a phased starting date for pupils joining our Reception Classes in September. We want children to settle into their new school as quickly as possible therefore, Reception classes will start in two groups.
Before your child starts school, we will be offering informal playground visits to our new children and parents/carers. During this visit please ask any questions you have about your child starting school. Children will also be offered a home visit by their teacher in September.

Reception and Year 1 Classes

When your child first starts school please bring them to the classroom door where they will be met by their class teacher and/or teaching assistant. Leaving your child at the entrance doors to come into the school building by themselves helps them to develop independence, and avoids the classrooms and corridors becoming too busy, ensuring a smooth start to the day.

Year 2 – 6 Classes

In the mornings there are teaching assistants and members of the leadership team on the playgrounds, welcoming you and your childre(ren) into school. Each year group has a separate entrance through which they enter the school building before making their way to their classrooms.
