Phonics help and guidance for at home:
Phonics is a way of teaching children how to read and write. It helps children to hear, identify and use different sounds to read and write words. Throughout the EYFS and Key Stage 1, phonics is taught using the Read Write Inc. programme. Children take home RWI books they can decode using their phonic knowledge, as well as quality picture books to build their vocabulary and love of reading.
