Children that read three times a week were entered into a draw this term. Winners came for hot chocolate and cake with our Assistant Head for English, Karlina Lock, as well as choosing a book to take home. The children were so engrossed in their books that they all started to read them as soon as they had chosen. We will continue celebrating reading in school and at home.

Recently at Filton Avenue Primary School, North Bristol NHS Trust staff spent the afternoon with Year 1 to talk to them about what nurses and doctors do.![]()
The children asked Dr Sam Patel (Medical Director for Medical Workforce), Dominique Duma (Deputy Chief Nurse) and Dr Josie Harrison, Clinical Teaching Fellow, very insightful questions, tried some resuscitation training and listened to their own hearts and stomachs.![]()
A huge thanks to all the NHS staff that visited, the children and staff alike all had a wonderful time engaging in all the activities and learning about what nurses and doctors do!![]()
